+ What is KYWedding.blogspot.com?
This website was created out of the frustration and diligence from planning my own wedding. There were two things I wanted to know when I began planning: (a) I want to know what my options were, and (b) I wanted honest reviews. KYwedding.blogspot.com is a continuously updated site of KY "wedding" vendors. The website also provides a place for honest and detailed reviews of the services listed on this site.

+
How do I navigate this site?
There are several ways to navigate this site. The easiest way to find what you are looking for is to check the left hand column. In the left hand column you will find vendor information listed by category (e.g., photographers, florist, bakery). These are listed under "Find a KY Vendor". Another way to find a vendor is to use the search space at the top of the screen. Good Luck!

+
What is the policy on reviews?
All reviews are personally reviewed. I expect honest and detailed reviews. I welcome both negative and positive reviews, but negative reviews are scrutinized more closely.Currently, there has been no problem with this policy. I would allow a vendor to respond if they remain professional.

+ Can I list my gently used or new wedding stuff here?
You may.A number of visitors reach this site looking for gently used or new wedding items. You must provide your own e-mail for buyers to contact you. I also encourage pictures. If you are a vendor there are a number of sites such as ebay.com and etsy.com where you are welcome to peddle your items.

+ Can you list my business?
YES! I will gladly update my site with your information. I think every bride should know all her options, and therefore I want to provide that to those who visit this site. Just email me at luckkywedding@gmail.com or post in the comment section below. If you are a vendor please supply the name of your business, your telephone, your web-address, and the area you primarily work from.

+Can I submit pictures of my business or venue?
Yes! If you're a venue please submit a few pictures that highlights your venue; If you are a baker please submit an example of a past wedding cake; and so on. I would love to continue posting pictures. Pictures are such a great way to showcase your talent and venue to a prospective client. Please limit venue pictures to 4 pictures and business pictures to 2 pictures.

+
Will you list my wedding show?
Yes! I will gladly update my site with your information. Just email me at Luckkywedding@gmail.com. I limit the information to: Date, location, name of show, and web-address.

THE KNOT:
1)
How do I change my siggy?
Siggy: a signature that appears at the bottom of every post you make to the forum boards

To put a link in your siggy, use this code:
<**a href="tinyurlGoesHere">Name Of Link

(Note: you need to remove **)

To put a pic in your siggy, use this code:
<**img src=http://tinyurlgoeshere width=200>

(Note: you need to remove **)

-Post the picture on a photo sharing site (e.g. Flickr)
-Once uploaded right click on pictures, and copy image location
-Go to www.tinyurl.com and paste your address to make the address a tinyurl.
-adjust the size by changing that width number.

* To put things on different lines, put in <**br> (again, remove **) where you want the line break.

2) How do I find KY knot bios:
Try HERE. If you wish to add your bio page me on the KY knot board: SomethinBlu.

An Illustration from Piddy Orchid of what not to ask on theknot.com

1) Q: Help! My FMIL is fat! Where can I find a dress for her?
A: Wow. Just, wow. It was really tacky of you to call your FMIL fat, but ANYway...the old stand-bys like Dillards, Macy's, and Von Maur carry good stuff. Additionally, other brides' FMIL and/or MOB have had luck at David's, small local bridal boutiques, and online shops like Chadwick's.
2) Q: Help! My MOH is pregnant! What do I do!?!?
A: Um, tell her "congratulations" and throw a baby shower for her. Listen, she's not supposed to stop living her life just because you're getting married. And before you retort with, "I just wanted to know where I could find some good maternity BM gowns, geez," you should know that it's okay to have non-matching BM gowns. She doesn't have to wear what all of your delightfully petite BMs are wearing. In fact, if you make her do that, she'll probably just feel really self-conscious and loathe being in your wedding.
3) Q: Help! Where should I have my reception in Louisville? I have 500 guests, want beautiful indoor and outdoor space, need in-house catering that provides alcohol, has ample parking, and costs under $200.
A: You have unrealistic expectations. Also, http://www.louisvilleweddingnetwork.com/ and this blog have *the* comprehensive listing of locations. If you can't find something that suits your needs here, then you need to look into booking someone's private residence or eloping in Vegas. Because your magical fairytale princess palace you've dreamed about since you were 12 doesn't exist. Sorry. You can book my backyard for $50 and a 12 pack of Bud Light. Just be careful to look out for the dog poop.

4) Q: My (insert family member here) did (insert random act here). It made me angry/sad/depressed/jealous/unhappy/gassy/etc. Should I uninvite them?
A: Personal decision. No one here cares. Take it elsewhere, honey.

Some other questions:
-Out-of-Town Bag: Also known as OOT Bag. These are bags provided to guests who are traveling from OUT of Town. Generally they are provided to those staying in Hotels. They include items that you provide to make the guest experience better and as a thank you to your guest who traveled the distance to celebrate your wedding. Most include a beverage, maps, recommendations for restaurants and tourist sites, a welcome letter, an itinerary, cookies, chips, mints, gum, aspirin etc. The number of things is endless. The best OOT bag are those that provide regional flare, but all things are appreciated.

-Who does airbrush makeup? Try checking the listing of make-up artists on this page. It is not unreasonable to contact a make-up artist and ask for references and whether they do airbrush make-up.

-Who does hair/makeup/both and can travel to me on the day of my wedding? see question above. Again, many will be able to tell you whether they travel and also do hair and makeup. Be sure to ask what these services charge!

-How much did your flowers cost? Prices of flowers vary considerably. The type of flower, the number of flowers needed, and the florist's charges are all factors influencing the price of a the beloved wedding flowers! There are a number of florists providing wedding services and if you aren't happy with the price quoted consider looking for flowers elsewhere.

-Is ordering flowers wholesale online and DIYing bouquets a good idea? Consider whether you have the time and space to prepare flowers and then designs them. Online flowers will arrive approx. 2-3 days before your wedding and will need to be prepped and placed in water in a cool area. Also do you have experience arranging flowers? It would be unwise to order flowers for a bouquet and use the night before your wedding to learn to make a boutique. Now consider making 10 centerpieces, Do you have the time? This is not to discourage anyone from DIY their flowers. I believe this is a great idea and definitely money saving. There are several great sites on how to prepare DIYing your flowers.

-Who does videography for under $1000? Try searching the listing of videographers on this page. Most have websites and all have phone numbers. It is not unreasonable to ask a videographer over the phone what their services cost. Remember contracts are necessary to insure your quoted price is the price you will be paying.

-What are boudoir pics? These are pictures generally given to your FI or husband as a wedding gift. They are typically sexually suggestive but should be appropriate enough to show to your best friend-Think: "Maxim cover-short." They are primarily shot at your home or in a hotels. Your should consider the credibility of your photographer before choosing to book these shots.

-Who does boudoir pics? a professional photographer. Try searching the listing of photographers. Many have information regarding boudoir shots on their personal website. Also a simple google search could provide you with this information.
